The mind/body interface is an important
issue for anyone working in the massage field. Understanding client's
issues and how the interaction between the mind and body may be a
consideration is essential to good practice. In addition, knowing
how and went to refer out to other professionals is important for scope
of practice and ethical concerns.
We will cover:
- History of the mind/body interface from ancient times to present
- Body Types and their relation to character
- NeuroLinguistic Programming
- The psychology of touch
- Listening skills and handling abreactions
- Understanding your own state of mind, shifting states for practice
- A brief overview of psychopathology
- Various professionals in the field and how to refer to them
- Experiential exercises and role play will be included.
